Here are some of the notable events in the life of the Mudlarks:
April 1990—inaugural meeting.
June 1990—Longshaw conservation volunteers become known as the Mudlarks. Steve Grimes takes over as Warden.
November 1990—the first sample of Keith’s jokes!
April 1993—work divided between Longshaw and High Peak.
August 1996—day’s walk on eastern end of Kinder Scout.
December 1998—last day with warden Steve Grimes.
November 1999—John fells that large tree!
March-June 2001—workdays cancelled due to outbreak of ‘foot and mouth’ disease.
July 2002—that ‘long day’ pulling ragwort out of the field near the Grouse Inn.
May 2007—mass cottongrass planting on hillside above Edale Cross.
March 2008—days walk around Grindleford and Millstone Edge.
September 2010—clearing the edge of Longshaw pond.
June 2011—working on Ilam dew pond.
